today a lesson in gear. Check you gear before you ride. its a simple thing that even the pros over look. A stupid little thing can ruin your day. A cable coming loose or a chain popping because it has stretched to far. This also means we need to maintain our bikes. that doesn't mean you have to take them to the shop every other ride, but there are things we should be doing before we ride or at least every few rides. Lube the chain put a little oil on the shifter cables. clean the dirty out of the pedals. Check the air pressure in the tires. Are some of the common ones. but other ones we should be checking. Ensure the bolts on our cleats are good and tight, ensure that the wheel skewers ares loose, same the the seat.
Today like an idiots i forgot to check my equipment so now i am doing until i can get new shoes. It happens to all of us. I also guarantee that this wont be the last time, so laugh it off. But its a good reminder to all of us that we need to check our equipment before we use it.

whats the deal yo!
So heres the thing until i can write the book cover to cover i might as well start blogging about the places i hit. If nothing else it will help me organize my thoughts about trails and parks, with that being said, a wise man once said, "its not about the destination, but about the journey." Thats what the great out doors is its a journey that can only be experienced in person. No matter what one person says or what photograph you see theres only one real way to experience it, that means you have to be out there living it also. So grab your helmets and let the journey begin.
